ok so just generally speaking, I think it's a good first episode! It sucks that because the manga is really illustration based that that doesn't super come through in the animation, at least as of ep 1, but I HAVE LIKE SEMI HIGH HOPES

to me this just means that maybe more people will get into the manga, which would be great!

I think the characterization of Ashaf and Guideau is p spot on so far, and the art style as a generalization is done decent enough, as well as it being almost 1:1 for the first chapter.

Hello! Fairly recent follower here who has been rabidly consuming your various post about P4/Adachi. Thank you for sharing so many cool scans/resources and for providing insightful analysis! I was wondering, have you ever written up anything about Adachi's relationship with Dojima and Nanako--and if not, would you mind sharing your thoughts? I keep seeing people say he doesn't actually care which is kind of wild to me!

Hi there! Glad you enjoy the content!

To date, I've only posted about his relationship with Nanako and Dojima once before, and it's a breakdown of the brief line when he first introduces himself to Nanako and the protagonist at the Dojima house.

This line was unfortunately completely different in English. The line was rewritten, the delivery is very flat and unplayful; Adachi sounds more like he feels threatened/scared of Dojima. But the Japanese voice acting and what he's saying (pretending to be Dojima's wife lol) and the situation made me feel that, even in April, Adachi must have had some level of rapport with Dojima.

Like you, I've also seen some insane shit. E.g. "At the hospital, I bet Adachi leans over Dojima's bed and whispers about how he hopes Nanako dies"??? What the hell that is an insane take LMAO. I've also seen people say that Adachi's arc in Arena Ultimax and what he says about Dojima in his narration means that Adachi got "woobified". Which, like, what?

Honestly, a lot of this also seems to go hand in hand with people not understanding the plot of Persona 4. Some people walk away from this game thinking that Adachi is the one who put Nanako into the TV (???), or that Adachi "picked" Nanako to be on the TV and thus targeted by Namatame (???). Thus, they interpret him to be more antagonistic towards Dojima and Nanako. Persona fans are not beating the "can't read, didn't play the game" allegations.

I think Adachi's relationship with Dojima and Nanako in the games can be described as, "Not really understanding what you have until it's too late". It's not something he necessarily sought out (e.g. he wants to be a hotshot detective with a hot wife, not "Dojima's Bud"), so he takes it for granted. After you beat up Adachi in the TV World and bring him out to Junes, his expression and inability to say anything when he finds out that Dojima hasn't completely given up on him really speaks for itself. And this continues into Arena Ultimax.

The 2010 Persona 4 audio drama also helps build upon his relationship with Dojima and Nanako. He is involved (and even pats himself on the back for his participation lol), yet at the same time, he also un-includes himself: When he tells the protagonist that he helped Dojima *spend time with his family*, it's like he is putting up a boundary between himself and them, counting himself outside of their family circle.

Golden further builds on this with his Social Link and his new interactions with Nanako. He clearly cares enough to watch his mouth around Nanako, catching himself before he says something that might upset her. Plus the extended letter he sends at the end, he really does spell out that, "Wow I kinda miss you all now huh funny how that works".

And if you've not seen it yet, the Adachi Q&A from the Stalker Club has some meta answers from Atlus regarding why Adachi took to Dojima when he first came to Inaba. I get the impression that Adachi is not a person who has many people that care about him, or feels like there aren't many. Thus the gestures Dojima showed him -- especially after a low point in his life, having been transferred to a small city and all -- probably meant a lot to him.

If you follow the line of thought about Adachi's cat / mouse game being bullshit, his real goal being ruining Namatame's life, and him not ever watching the Midnight Channel, then Adachi's Social Link seems complimentary to the sequence of events on November 5th.

Under this lens, it would mean that Adachi doesn't know Nanako was on TV, and he understands (or has assumed) that the Investigation Team have been saving people but he doesn't quite know the precise details. Naoto calls and reveals that Nanako is gone. Adachi shows some hesitancy towards Dojima jumping to action, and he's hesitant to let the Investigation Team go. But he does eventually cave and lets them leave. Not just because he wants them to find Namatame (which would be beneficial to him), but also because he now understands what's happened and knows that Nanako is in danger.

On the flip side, I'm not huge on the Golden anime's depiction of Adachi which puts a great deal of emphasis on his relationship with the Dojima family. While his relationship with them is certainly an undeniably important part of his character in general, the Golden anime changes his character in a way that I don't vibe with.

"Adachi willingly goes into the TV World without being exposed as the murderer due to feeling guilty about Nanako getting involved" is a very different character than "Dipshit suffocating in society while trying to get away with murder so he can still belong to society". Really, the Society!! thing, and how he just seems to feel stuck in the adult world; not advancing but not removing himself either, is a major factor as to why I like his character, and I feel that aspect of him was completely removed/downplayed/something for the anime.

Like, I found these 3 panels from the Persona 4 manga (which also adds in some emphasis on Adachi's relationship with Dojima and Nanako) to be more effective and poignant than whatever the Golden anime was trying to do. Even just the top panel by itself tells a story that someone might be able to discern things from without knowing anything about Persona 4. It is absolutely possible to depict this aspect of Adachi without fundamentally rewiring him.

I normally don't talk about personal stuff on here but like in the previous year I wanted do a little recap and give shoutouts to some lovely people 🧡

It hasn't been an easy year for me, I started a new job which has been stressful and annihilated my work-life balance which resulted in me being sick a lot & just being stressed for most of the year lol. I barely found time to maintain this blog which may not seem like it on the outside since I somehow managed to frequently post but it's been difficult. I know I don't have to be online 24/7 but the fear of slipping into irrelevancy due to lack of content remains. I didn't have much time to watch bls & asian shows in general which I still consider my safe space and escapism so I'm resentful that I didn't get to fully take in and enjoy the things I'm passionate about and make content about them like I did in the previous years. That being said thank god for all the weekend shows that I did manage to watch and fully focus on like Only Friends and now Cooking Crush and Cherry Magic. Those have been life savers lol and also thank god for all the talented creators who gave us tons of content; I will mention some of them below.

But aside from my personal schedule and despite not watching a lot of stuff, I still tried to keep an eye on what's going on in the BL world for my monthly breakdowns, which I still enjoy making and I will likely continue them in 2024. I also came to the conclusion that 2023 ended up being another rendition of quantity > quality in the BL-verse so not much has changed lol - not that I expected it to. We got a wild and extended mix of different genres and subgenres this year which was nice to see. We saw companies & actors experimenting a lot (with varying results), we got new ships, new fandoms and new enemies, as well as a variety of comebacks and retirements. My watchlist this year was limited to Thai BLs and my blog mostly consisted of gmmtv related content and like I said, if I had had more time I probably would have explored more different shows - but I eventually resorted to what's familiar. I guess I needed an anchor in midst of all my personal chaos lol.

But despite my short list, there were a few gems that I enjoyed. The big ones like Only Friends, Moonlight Chicken, Be My Favorite, etc., and the small, less popular ones like Be Mine Superstar, Mission Fan Possible and a few more. I enjoyed talking to friends & making content about them in the limited timeframes I had. My opinions mostly matched those of the general public but unfortunately there were a few disappointments that were bathing in a success that I could not wrap my head around - Dangerous Romance and A Boss and a Babe being at the top of that list, followed by La Pluie and also a few of the lakorns I watched. But anyway.

Anyone who knows me knows my blog has been 83% FirstKhao this year lmao, they're my favorite people in this industry and watching them act, interact & making content about them has been one of my highlights. I'm excited to see what 2024 brings for them and even if it's not a series, I'm looking forward to seeing what else they will be up to 🥺 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

I'm going into 2024 with mixed feelings but above all I hope I will get the chance to expand my watchlist a little. rays of sunlight shine through your opened blinds, casting the room in a gentle glow. you stir awake at the brightness and lazily blink yourself awake for a few seconds before laying back down on your bed. leon’s arm rests around your waist to keep you in his hold. 

a tranquil silence hangs in the air. you smile as you shift a little closer to him, taking the time to admire your sleeping lover. you raise a hand up to brush a few stray blonde locks behind his ear to fully expose his face. you trail your fingertips down leon’s sharp jawline. he stirs slightly at the feeling but otherwise remains in a peaceful sleep. 

your hand gently traces along his soft skin, finally resting against his cheek. it isn’t often that leon allows you to fully admire him and his beauty. you can think of countless times when he’d shrink away from you, cheeks flushed a light pink as he playfully pushed you away or covered his face with his hands. 

leon’s eyebrows furrow slightly when you brush your thumb against his cheek. he blinks a few times as he stirs awake. he smiles, pulling you a little closer to his chest. “good morning love.” his morning voice is raspier than usual. he shifts to rest his head in the crook of your neck, pressing a peck against your skin. 

“morning,” you hum. you bring your hand up, gently raking it through his hair. leon lets out a content sigh as you twist the soft strands between your fingers. his hand ghosting against your hips slides underneath your - his - shirt to rub small circles against your bare skin. “we don’t have any plans today so we can stay in bed for as long as you want.” 

leon smiles, shifting just enough so you can lean against his chest instead. “when’s your next shot?” 

“today.” you sit up to stretch your arms out as leon watches from his position on your shared bed. “i’ve actually been thinking, and… i want you to help. if you’re okay with it, of course. i know it’s a shot and you’re not a huge fan of needles but-” 

leon cuts you off by pressing a sweet kiss against your lips. he smiles when you pull away, bringing a hand up to cup your cheek. “i’d be honored to help you.” 

you pull him into a final kiss before getting out of bed with a small smile. “i’ll go get everything.” 

leon is sitting up on the edge of your bed when you return. he fidgets with his fingers for a few seconds as you everything out on your bedside table before reaching over to take his hand into yours. you squeeze it gently for reassurance. “are you sure you want to do this?” 

“yeah,” he nods. “will you talk me through this?” 

“of course,” you nod. “here.” leon takes the syringe, carefully removing it from the packaging and taking the needle cover off. “push the needle down into the rubber stopper,” you instruct. leon sets the vial down on a table as your hands hover over his to help him carefully insert it. “now flip it upside down and fill it to the line.” 

“like this?” he asks, carefully taking the medication into the syringe. 

“that’s perfect,” you smile. “then pull it out and check for air bubbles.” leon carefully flicks the side of the syringe until you nod, pulling the band of your sweatpants down to expose your thigh. you chuckle as his face flushes slightly as you reach over to grab an alcohol pad to clean the skin. 

leon remains silent as you position his hands against the middle of your thigh, angling the needle correctly. “push down in one motion.” he glances up at you for reassurance one final time. you nod, gently resting your hands on top of his. “don’t worry. you’ll do great. i know you will.”

he nods, carefully pushing the needle down and then injecting the medication in a single, smooth motion. “good. that was perfect,” you smile, removing the needle yourself and setting it aside in a designated sharps box. leon’s eyes linger on your leg as you move to sit beside him once again. 

“does it hurt?” 

“the shot? no. it feels kinda like a flu shot, but… better,” you smile. leon brushes a hand against your thigh for a second before you move to pull your sweatpants back up. you move a little closer to him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. “what are you so busy thinking about?” 

leon wraps an arm around your waist as you shift to straddle his lap. his hands ghost against your hips as he leans up to pull you into a sweet kiss. “it’s just… i’m so lucky to have you. you’re smart, and loyal, and handsome,” you cut him off with a chuckle that makes him smile before he keeps going. “you’re everything i could ever hope for in a boyfriend. i’m so in love with you.” 

you smile, tilting his head up and pulling him into another kiss. leon smiles into it, lips quirking upwards against your own. you press a final peck against his lips when you pull away. “i’m in love with you too.”

Looking back at 2024 writings~ ✍️

Thought I'd have my own go at those "a year in art" things that artists do! I wrote something every month this year! Usually multiple somethings. There were a lot of fan events, huh. Here are the highlights... (The underlined things are links btw)

January: 🧪🌈🐍 supervised sex for science

This fic was way more popular than my average! The perks of not writing about GaruKaru... but evidently that allure did not hold me back for the rest of the year lmao I wrote this for a 2023 secret santa, but the deadline was until January and I only started in January, so it counts. I had fun with the fic, even though it's a bit outside of the 'written for sexual gratification' zone I usually go for.

February: 🐺🦈🎁🐺 Blade b-day bonanza

For the Blade birthday fanweek, I wrote this story wherein Garu and Karu give him a cute present. Then they fuck (unrelated). The main thing I like about this in retrospect is how I depicted Karu somehow failing to top someone who is clearly ok with doing whatever he says. さすがカイルくん...

March: 🐺❄️🐺 c'est le pupcest

I wrote it in response to a prompt in the Kink Meme, but also gifted it to Sungel because Sungel had been asking for something like this for a while and I would feel really smug if they were the anon who submitted the prompt but alas that they were not. Anyway. Garu's separation anxiety in Frozen Echoes sure was something, huh? Kink-wise, I love the 'wrestling for dominance' trope and I love the idea of Garu going along with it just to humor Karu but somehow winning.

April: 🌈😈🐺 Morvay madness

One of my Morvay week contributions! I also did one for Karu/Morvay but that was less popular. I'm very fond of both anyway. Morvaru, my beloved...! I will continue to be your only prophet. Really hoping 2025 will bring us more Morvay content in general. Anyway, Garu gets to stick his little thing in someone again in this story and that's neat. Have I made Garu top more frequently than Karu lol

April was also a month in which I wrote quite a lot of my problematic original spanking-focused fics, hm. There was the bunny boys story, the mechanical boy, a new chapter of Smitten, and the prince/slaves fic!

May: 🌈🐺/🦊🐺 good master bad master

This is one of my Kuyaru Week pieces! Hugely inspired by that Ray drawing of Karu getting a hairbrush hiding from Kuya (which was in turn inspired by me of course, our relationship is beautiful). I thought it would be fun to compare Eiden brushing Garu's tail to Kuya 'brushing' Karu's tail. I was right, it was fun. Karu getting spanked will always do it for me. I also had Kuya turn him into a bunny that month, which was darker but also fun. A bit of strangulation for my good friend and editor who deserves such treats (do you see how beautiful our relationship is).

June: 🌈🪦 he died as he lived,

The first of many drabbles I'd submit to nuflashfic's Drabbles for the Birthday Boy(s) challenges. Writing these drabbles is quite fun. I get to make something really quick and dirty but still feel a sense of accomplishment. I think they're also a good creative exercise in figuring out which words actually matter. I managed to fit so many characters in this first one!

July: 🧪🐺 guilt-ridden medicinal dogfucking

This was written for the Rei zine! I knew that I wanted to write Reiaru for that project (see here), but Rei and GaruKaru's backstory was still nebulous when it began. I waited and waited, hoping that we'd get some elaboration, and boy did we! I ended up leaning into Rei's sense of duty in taking care of Garu, even though that kind of sentimentalism isn't much my cup of tea. This story inspired a very talented Chinese artist to draw this amazing piece, which is still crazy to me.

July is also the month of Human Quality, and Kuya/Quincy/GaruKaru which might be my best work.

August: 🐺☀️🐺🦀 can't meme this any harder

For the Dante zine, Sunkissed! Turns out that pairing the least popular characters in a not very evocative scenario doesn't go over so well, hits-wise. Whatever man, I got a crab fight scene. There's even art of it in the zine, drawn by contacthigh, whose dantaru pitches led me to the whole concept actually. I enjoy the instances of "Karu gets irrationally annoyed at Dante's use of magic to solve problems" in this story. Also the dogs being cluelessly sexy.

August is also when we started the Everyone/Garu anthology! I wrote the Dante chapter, then the Blade chapter, then the Morvay chapter, and edited all of the others. I'm very proud of that fic; three minds turned to a singular purpose... dogfucking 😌 we accomplished much.

September: 🦊🐺♀️ lesbian yaoi...?!

I had to see if I could... it seems that I can. My preferred flavor of humiliation transcends gender barriers to some extent, apparently. This year I lowkey found some latent bisexuality within me; I blame the gyaru bratty uke in that "Fucked by my best friend" manga.

October: ☀️🦇🏖️ bikini Aster, your honor

For Daster Week! I know that people are generally more interested in getting their bottom Dante / subverted expectations fix from daster, but I like bottom Aster too. I enjoy the dynamic of Aster being very manipulative and weaponizing his cuteness to push Dante around. This fic was inspired by that incredible fanart I'm happy to have boosted. Not enough people are sexualizing the cute boys to my taste in this game and I will continue working to change that. That sounded wrong but tbh it's meant that way.

November: 🦇🐺🍣🥢forever snacking on Karu

November was a busy, busy month with Wolves Week 2024! Apparently I only have a couple drabbles, since most of my effort went into writing the Morvay chapter and editing the Karu chapter of Project F.T.D. But I had to put out at least a little something for astaru! And continue consolidating my paralysis fetish...

December: 🐺🐍🌡️ shivering snake shenanigans

My contribution to this year's Advent Calendar, finally some proper yakaru from me! I love Karu being fussy (and failing to top, of course). Yakumo disastrously losing control of his urges is always good too. Though funnily enough, I'd rather see both of them be dommed and frustrated at the same time. Neither of these boys should top. Kuya please--

Closing thoughts

This was a year in which I got more "serious" about writing, starting around September or so. I don't want to be a professional writer (being forced to 'create' is something that I dread and the main reason I decided to quit academia this year!), but I'm starting to make a career out of editing/proofreading, in addition to my translation work. And it's kind of crazy how much fic-writing and beta reading have helped me hone essential skills for that field!

It has also been a year of liberation, in the sense that I started out still quite nervous about exposing the depths of my particular depravities. As the new year approaches, I realize I'm quite different now; I have no problem listing out the specific things that most appeal to me in smut, or shamelessly hitting those same buttons over and over and over in my writing. I'm fueled and encouraged by the kudos and comments from people who are almost always there for it 💛 Thank you for always being in my morning AO3 e-mails.

For 2025, I want to go back through my older fics and give them minor makeovers; fixing some jank, standardizing punctuation, that kind of stuff. I also want to give closure to the non-oneshot fics that aren't finished. But mostly I want to keep joining fan events and giving myself anxiety over deadlines, because I love looking back at everything later and seeing some impact on the fandom. It's neat. It's kind of like having a social life.

I might branch out into Noctilucent and Jock Studio fics in 2025 too, in addition to my sporadic and, uh, specialized original work.

Been reading 'You Deserve It! Break Time' and shaking Haruka vigorously. Rambling below.

Shizuku worries about Haruka working so hard in this event and wants to give her a break, and roughly the narrative goes that Haruka works as hard as she does unconsciously, that even though she should probably work a little less, she enjoys the grind, and that the difference between her perfect idol "persona" and Haruka the person is much blurrier than with Shizuku who'd had her perfect idol shtick essentially forced on her. It's not that Haruka's necessarily overworked or stressed despite how much she takes on herself, she's really the type A personality type of girl who enjoys the hustle of being an idol (and just imo leaning dangerously into headcanon territory, probably feeds off being able to be that hopeful provider and get praised for it so much). It's how she thrived for so long before her incident with Mai.

(she's so giddy. oh boy 10 pm time to brainstorm for livestreams the fans are gonna b so happy with me <3)

What I'd like to talk about in this post though is the ambiguity there! Yeah, Haruka loves being an idol, but there's an underline of "but. she could probably afford to be a little Less" sprinkled throughout. There's ambivalence towards Haruka's attitude towards being an idol, and before the event at that. I've thought a lot about a few of Haruka's early early interactions with Saki and Ichika talking about her habits:

"HARUKA-CHAN SUGOOI") Haruka doesn't know how to stop being an idol--even during the time where she's trying to quit. She tried just stopping dieting and training, and she got so stressed out over the absence of that routine ('so restless' i know what you're saying kiritani haruka.) that she went right back to the comfortable familiarity of keeping herself in shape as an idol.

These are definitely framed in the notion that Haruka can't really accept not being an idol and wants to return to it in her heart, not that she's unhealthy, but they also kind of imply she can't help herself but live the lifestyle. It's not just depressing for her, the work is something she has the compulsion to return to once she's stopped. She says it outright to Shizuka...

And it's an insane thing to say??? What do you mean you don't know how to relax??? Even though Haruka loves being an idol and hates being idle (hehe) and that's not unhealthy in of itself, it seems like she's been doing it for so long that she can't stop! I don't quite believe it when Airi mentions that she'd told her 'don't worry, I have an off-switch', when when she's tried to stop she's stressed out enough that she goes back to her work routine, and during the event during their time off (and before Shizuku starts tripping over herself in true form) she's still daydreaming about finding inspiration for their livestreams, as Airi snips at her throughout for.

She's happy, she's energized by the thrill of the hunt and I'd argue does 'relax' more than she knows hanging out with her co-idols and participating in their antics, but I wonder how she'd handle having to deal with a full stop. What if she gets a bad injury and has to be stuck in a cast for a bit? Content herself to play manager? It's a good start in the event for Haruka to be more conscious that she devotes more of herself than is necessary to work, and is trying to cut it back a little, but I'd wager ASRUN's nonstop idol Kiritani Haruka has already been baked into her personality during these formative years...

I think she'll have a rough time retiring from idolhood, sobs. If she had to stop one day, it would stress her out so badly I'm not sure she'd know what to do. Something would need to fill the aspirational void in her heart of being an idol and bringing hope to her fans. Maybe she should work corporate. Or become a biologist that researches penguins in Antarctica. Or maybe she'll have her edges smoothed out in the story to follow, I haven't gotten that far yet (have mercy, sincerely yours)....

also if she and minori have children (Dislikes: Idleness, Relaxing Activities respectfully) those poor things are in for a ride

Yep. In fact, I'll write a whole mini essay for you so I can add it to the FAQ section of my website coming up shortly LMAO (SINCE I NEED TO FULLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR THERE ANYWAY, RIGHT???) CLICK UNDER THE READ MORE TO SEE IT BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BE THE LONGEST THING I'VE EVER POSTED HERE, LMAO.

To preface, I have been a fan of the M&L games going back to the early-mid 2000s when I was a kid. I had no involvement with fandom or anything of the sort back then but I used to hop on my mom's bulky computer and look up fanart and other related content as early as 2004/5 and as a result, ended up captivated by the characters long before I knew who they actually were. (As a result of this, I have the names and art styles of various old M&L fandom creators permanently ingrained in my head and often wonder where they are today since a good deal of them vanished..!) It wasn't until 2006 that I got my first handheld console (DS Lite) and of course, what did I do? Immediately begged my mom to order me a used GBA copy of Superstar Saga. 

When I finally had the game in my hands it was like coming home to a colorful world that I'd been captivated by for so long but never gotten the chance to actually explore until now. The characters felt like old friends and the Beanbean Kingdom as a location felt familiar and comforting to me. (As a side note, Popple quickly became my favorite. Shocker, right?)

I used to sketch various beans in my notebooks as well as on printer paper we had lying around the house. Long story short, I finished Superstar Saga and then a few years later in 2010 I picked up Bowser’s Inside Story and THAT’S WHEN THINGS SHIFTED–

BIS brought Fawful and his personality to life in a way that captivated my imagination like nothing else had prior. He quickly overtook Popple as my favorite character from then on forward… and that’s where it ends! Or.. is it?

Nah, that’s where it gets funky. Life got a little chaotic after that and not only did I stop playing video games altogether for many years, but I also almost completely gave up on art - the one thing I was most passionate about above all and thought I would make a career out of someday. A series of depressing events caused me to lose all hope and motivation for anything I created and the spark I’d kept inside of me for so long all but died out as a result.

We’re going to timeskip again, this time to late 2019. I’d just moved away from home permanently for the first time and had been getting settled in and no matter what I did to make my new apartment a cozy place it always felt like something was missing. My mind would keep wandering to the fact that I never made art anymore despite it having been such a key part of my life when I was younger. I so desperately wanted to change this and over the next few months the frustration only kept growing until on January 1st, 2020, I sat down in the living room with a pencil and paper in my hand and shut my eyes tightly before saying under my breath:

“I do not care what it is, I don’t care how it comes. Just please… PLEASE send me something to bring my art back. Anything… anything at all. I don’t care what I draw, I just want to be drawing again.” And with that, I placed the lead onto the paper and began to sketch…

And from there… a familiar face appeared!

(Now I could ramble to you about how much I do NOT like this drawing and how off model it is from how Fawful actually looks… but I’ll forgive myself since I hadn’t touched the M&L games in over a decade at this point and had forgotten most of Fawful’s character. And yet?? Here he was.)

How else can I explain it except that in that moment it felt like the pencil in my hand had suddenly become one of these:

A joy that I hadn’t felt in SO long suddenly filled my entire being and without wasting another second, I immediately went online and ordered both Superstar Saga and Bowser’s Inside Story to replay again. In the time waiting for the games to arrive I had started drawing daily again - sketching out various old characters of mine with dozens of doodles of the bean man stacked in between them all.

There he was… always smiling, always happy to see me, and oftentimes with his arms outstretched as if to give an encouraging hug. When the games arrived I worked through them quicker than I ever had prior - finishing up Superstar Saga in less than a week and subsequently moving onto Bowser’s Inside Story with a LOT of excitement built up for it. 

It was my first day playing and I was having the time of my life! The way Fawful looked in his little grey cloak with that enormous, charming grin of his as he bamboozled Bowser into eating the Vaccuum Shroom had me giggling with joy while words repeated in my brain over and over of: “I need to draw this later, I NEED to draw this later!!!” I WAS EXCITED ABOUT ART AGAIN… AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I was practically hopping in my seat from the happiness I felt in my heart and chest every time Fawful appeared at this point!

This was how it felt until the moment I arrived at the Fawful Theatre and watched as he began dancing on the stage floor. THIS time.. something different came over me. If you’ve felt it before, then you’ll know what I mean when I say that it was like my entire body turned warm all at once, like some sort of flame had been lit inside. I’d never felt it for anything or anyone prior to then, and that's partly why it hit me as hard as it did. I was practically sweating.

Heck, I was so absorbed in my feelings that I had forgotten there was anyone else in the room with me! That is.. Until my roommate at the time spoke up: 

Her: Are you alright? Me: Uhhh… yeah, why? Her: You’re red as a beet. Are you sure you’re okay?

By this time I had realized what was really going on so I reassured her I was fine, grabbed my 3DS, and ran to my room to finish the playthrough on my own so I wouldn’t embarrass myself any further, hahaha.

In the days, weeks, and months following that moment I became dedicated to drawing the best art of Fawful I could possibly create! What started as a challenge to myself to ‘give back’ to the person who’d given me back the ability to create again turned into someone I genuinely could not stop drawing for how much fun I was having doing it. The desire to make better and better art in order to honor him drove me to improve at a speed I never had prior, and soon thereafter I created Jolligig as a way for me to be in this colorful world with him and to express the deepening affection I was feeling for him with every day that passed by.

By some miracle, my prayer had been answered and here it was in the form of a grinning lima bean.

Soo... about that new podcast...what do you think? Why announce it now, all of sudden. And is it connected to F3? If machines vs nature will be the main plot, well, the whole movie is spoilered lmao. ((and why not just make it a tv series??))

I’m guessing that they’re announcing it now ahead of the D23 Event in September. Maybe.

We actually have a lot of interesting side content coming this year, the newly announced Frozen Podcast: Forces of Nature coming October, Lost Legends: The Fixer Upper also in October, and All is Found: A Frozen Anthology in November.

Which means more updates that need to be done for my canon post. Pffft.

But back to the point. What do I think about the new podcast.

My first thought is, why not just make a series? Was it cheaper to do a podcast? Is the company really struggling that much right now (with not paying their animators and writers) that they can’t just give us a nice Frozen Series to bridge the gap between F2 and F3? A podcast just seems so…unreachable. Like, many fans are already not aware of novels and comics, and their canon is still being debated - are we really creating something that literally only die-hard fans would know about? Idk. It just seems very lazy. I know that Jen Lee and Chris Buck are busy with other projects, and the new director is probably busy with the third film - but come on Disney. A little more effort would be nice.

On that same note, why introduce more characters? The reason I’m bringing this up is because I would be genuinely sad if once again the Northuldran characters are pushed to the side. We really couldn’t get a Sami person to review/work on the story with the current writers? Again, if they are excluded, it just adds to the overall lazy feel of this project.

I hope I’m proven wrong and this project actually has a lot of work and dedication put into it.

On the subject of the plot - it seems interesting. I would honestly have to wait to see more details and be able to dissect the story to really give a more fair critique for it, but so far the idea of copper machines disrupting the balance of nature is intriguing.

Hi there! Hope you're doing awesome! Quick question,I know we're only 2 episodes into Volume 9,but what's your take on the whole Penny situation? I was crushed when she first died in Volume 3,then excited to see her again in 7,then crushed again to see her die just 1 volume later,as I'm sure everyone was. I'm hopeful about 9 though,it's looking good,but one of my friends has been turned off by all the gut punches with Penny & everything else,& I'm watching the series through with another friend & I don't want them to get turned off the same way. I'm hoping for something but not sure what at this point.

I totally understand if one of your friends got turned off with what had happened to her character so far--- because two years ago I was in the exact same position lol. In fact I came to watch the first ep of V9 without any expectations nor as much interest as I did with V8. I was mostly curious as to what direction they'd be pushing the story into.

And hooo boy was I surprised! And I mean, the kind of "Oh shit I'm caught off-guard by all that Nuts and Dolts moments because it's so in-the-face what thE HELL". Exactly like V8 lmao. I know I'm now speaking about the ship but jfdfdskfj I also do mean Penny content. I caught up with RWBY V6 and V7 during the 2020 / V7 hiatus, and when the Penny content was suddenly given the spotlight, that gut-punched me too.

And yeah that's exactly what I'm seeing with V9. Two years of grieving not really having much canon material to speculate about Penny's direction as a character and the premiere of V9 gave me new hopes actually! From a better perspective, I'm a little more positive that the theories / suspicions that had been floating around the Nuts and Dolts / Penny fandom (since V8) are in the right direction. I'll be bold now when I say it, now that I have moved past the pains of V8 lol: Nuts and Dolts is a living ship, and I have 95% confidence when I say it's actually a canon pair now. The first two episodes especially emphasized this, and I trust CRWBY knows what they're doing with the implications of it. And because they're less likely to bury gays, aside from an entire thesis (no kidding lol) from the Nuts and Dolts nation on why Penny would come back, looking at what the show might be bringing (hopepunk, wlw, LGBTQIA+ reps) gives me a positive view of Penny's general direction as a character.

One of my friends / mutuals said it aptly when they mentioned that RWBY doesn't benefit much from being watched while airing, because as a fan of the show who painstakingly waits between hiatuses it might sometimes feel underwhelming when you've been expecting something big for so long. I've been here since 2013, but it gets better when you rewatch volumes at once especially before a new season premiere! If one gets the hints given by CRWBY right, there is a pay-off there (I had my moment here with Pietro in V8). So I guess technically that means it's better off changing one's mindset that whatever they do with characters / the story usually has a reason forward, but then it would take a while to really get there.

hello folks!! it's been a great while hasn't it? i've been out of tumblr for so long and im trying to catch up! after making my mind, i decided to work on this account a bit more and bring new updates regarding my content!

the account was made entirely to entretain myself writing my silly ittle fanfics but with the time spent here i felt like it became a chore rather than a hobby, so i'm changing that! i will be back to writing and this time there will be no schedules (not that i had any to begin with LMAO), no more requests and no frequent writing becuase i'm having a busy life now and i write when inspiration comes, so that can vary a lot.

some of you may or may have not seen me reblogging things from time to time, that was just me trying to get into tumblr and engage with my interests again.

i will start using this page as it was originally intended: a fan account to talk freely about my interests and share my honest thoughts about them! which i was lowkey doing but i was always afraid to post something new because i was so worried about everyone's opinions, always attentive to likes and engagement, constantly checking if there are bots or creepy people around; non of these things matter to me anymore, i just want to have fun in this site like everyone else and release the tension i carry with almost anything i do with my life, i always find it hard to not be tense in any environment so i think it's time i start being myself fully and enjoy my little interests because genuinely, it's not that deep, i'm doing no harm while doing the things that i love.

so! with that being said, this account will no longer be constantly active, i will only appear to share stuff, write something every now and then and make this a comfort space for me. also i'll delete all my reblogs as much as i can to clear my feed (and re-tag my posts and reblogs)

as for my mutuals, i'm afraid since i'm not going to be as active as i used to that if you text me or interact with me i won't answer quickly nor be super invested in the conversation :( i appreciate you greatly but i'm not gonna be using as much media as i used to, i hope this doesn't make our interactions uncomfortable or meaningless. i wish to catch up with you y'all anyways.

If Jason came back to life, would you be pissed that Rick pulled another Leo, or would you rejoice?

OR would you rather Will and Nico bump into Jason in the middle of the book?

Hi! Firstly, thanks for your interest! Let us dissect this one at a time.

For the first question: well, I'd say "pissed" might be too aggressive. I rarely get outraged when it comes to media content (wrecked yes, but rarely angry). I might not like it - that's like. all the time - but I'd most likely be able to leave it alone just bc I hate to care about what I dislike.

That is to say: should it turn out that Jason pulls a Leo, I think I would be more happy than not.

Of course, it depends a lot on how, exactly, Rick pulls it off.

As I've said, it's all about plot and more importantly, to me, logic. If he makes up another sort-of-the Physician's cure and the story basically goes the same way? I would be extremely disappointed. I love parallels but not replays. I hate it more if it's Jason - who's alr been shat on enough for "not having a personality". I'm throwing hands

In the fortunate event that Rick somehow comes up with a new, unrivaled resurrection method for Jason, though? It'd be really nice because I'm pretty sure 9 out of 10 Jason stans would want another chance for him to live a true life. Bringing him back to life - as of now, would do more good than harm, IMO, and maybe idk give the Jasico fans a reason to buy the book Ig

I'm aware of how difficult it is, also. Said resurrection must not be another Leo replica and still has to bypass Nico's children of Hades thing. I barely know about Greek myths and I have nothing in my mind. Let's just Rick has something in store should he decide to play this card lmao.

About the scenario in which Nico and Will bump into Jason: generally, I have no problem with the idea that Jason would make an appearance again. As mentioned: I'd love to see Jason again - in every shape and size, honestly.

However, there're a few I hope would be addressed should it happen that way:

1/ The fact that Nico didn't even try to contact Jason after his death.

2/ How Jason feels after-death, whether he even wishes to be back, how he feels about his funeral and/or Apollo's promise, sort of, etc...

3/ A clear insight into Nico's grief.

And of course: a thorough and reasonable explanation as to why and/or how Nico and Will bump into Jason.

Do they see him in Tartarus? Then why is Jason in Tartarus when he's died as a hero? How he's coping?

Do they meet him in Elysium? Why does Nico (and Will) come to Elysium in the first place? What does their encounter bring? Does Jason help with the quest?

In short: I'm more of a go-with-the-flow type of writer. Generally, I have no problem if things are set the way they should be and the plot doesn't just. kick its own balls I guess. If Rick can make it make sense and stay away from the cliché, I'm sure everything would be just peachy.

are you ready for a paragraph(s) about these books? bc i’m obsessed w them. it’s def not literary fiction so if you do read them don’t go in w an expectation that it’s going to be on the level of like madeline miller (my fav) or emily henry type stuff (idk what you read! those are just two authors staring at me from my personal library rn)

but also the characters have so much depth? it’s a silly little world with a silly little made up sport (it also helps that i love silly little sports. i’m an avid hockey and formula one racing fan. so silly) but also it’s VERY dark so please please look up content warnings before hand (i will send a list of what’s in the first book only if you’d like. but it’s a lot.)

compared to author dark fiction writers i’ve read (looking at you penelope douglas) i’ve found it approached better yk? like the content in it is dark stuff and my friends keep asking me if i’m okay when i’m describing the plot (i can also do that!! i literally never will shut up about any book i’ve ever read!!) but it’s still enjoyable. there have been multiple times where i had to step away from penelope douglas stuff bc i simply could not but i read the first all for the game book in 24 hrs.

i’m going to shut up now but plz plz lmk if you want to know more!! i simply am starting to fixate on this series and need an outlet to talk about it with others.

Before saying goodbye to Liar! Uncover the Truth…

This game has always been dear to me (as much as My Last First Kiss does! even now) but sadly not every game we love has a happy ending. The closure of JP Liar was foreboding, yet the announcement still hits just as hard!

I have been playing again since the announcement. Although I’ve branched my otome tastes a little more, this game is still charming, not afraid to bring out all the crazies and fun, and still have in store plenty of heart-fluttering moments!

(And so much personality in the localization; I miss that a lot nowadays T_T)

Although a bit of content of JP Liar has been ported to Koi100+, they were nowhere near everything. The gameplay definitely hits different as well due to format limitations. And of course my hope is that Liar! will make its way to Love365 as well, but nothing has been confirmed and time is running out.

And you know how I will always and forever miss Gossip Girl Party.

Did you know they deleted the PV off their channel? I didn’t! And I’m still furious >:(

So I was able to find many other Liar! fans and we’re trying our best to archive everything that we can! The progress have been great, but we definitely still miss some content, namely data files, event routes and false accusations. We also talk a bunch about Liar! as we go through all the good old memories of the game (honestly I forgot how chaotic these guys were lmao)
